So what’s this all about?

I set up this site as a place to share my enthusiasm for cycling, and all things bike related.

Since I was a young boy I’ve loved the freedom that cycling brings. It widened my horizon, made my world bigger, and allows for exploration, discovery, and overcoming challenges.

I also enjoy understanding how these machines work, getting my hands dirty and fixing stuff myself.

This mechanical engineering curiosity started with bicycles, but also spilled into repairing electronics, espresso machines, basically anything I could get my hands on. Often successfully, and sometimes not!

So for the last 40 years or so, I’ve been a home mechanic and cycling enthusiast. I want to share some of that enthusiasm online, and learn from you guys too. As we repair and reuse old things we’re preserving modern industrial heritage and supporting environmental sustainability, which is a good thing in my book.
