In a new town but itching to ride? Then check this out…

I’ve been using Strava to log my rides since I came to Switzerland, but a recent discovery for me is Strava Local.

For those who don’t use Strava, or who haven’t seen this feature yet, it’s a collection of jogging and cycling maps for various cities around the world.

There’s a decent number of popular locations covered, but I hope this will grow to include many more cities.

These routes were selected either for their historical significance, or their scenic nature and are a neat resource for someone in town for work, or for new arrivals to a city.

For Paris, Zurich and Singapore I can confirm the rides suggested are authentic local “classic” routes. Similar to some rides I’ve posted on this blog.

When you’re new to a place, it can take time to work out the good spots to jog or to ride, or to join a local club, so this is a great resource to get you started.

Even if you know a city well, maybe you’ll find routes you never knew? Well worth a look.
